Siberi*inn is set atop the Oro Moraine, nestled within one of the area's many hardwood forests. The Oro Moraine is situated in the rural township of Oro-Medonte, which is part of the Lake Country tourist region. Recreation and tourism are the area's main economy. In winter, this area has some of the best snow around. "Streamers" off Georgian Bay dump 3-5 metres (10-15 feet) of snow each winter, as they rise up to cross over the Oro Moraine. Siberi*inn is located in the "buckle" of Central Ontario's snowbelt, and winter here lasts almost 6 months. 3 ski centres are less than 15 minutes away from Siberi*inn:
When there is no snow on the ground, there is lots to do outdoors. The Ganaraska Hiking Trail is only a few hundred steps from Siberi*inn. Hardwood Hills becomes a world-class Mountain Biking centre when ski season is over. There are 2 Equestrian centres just up the road (Glen Oro and Grandview). There are a dozen golf courses within 15 minutes. The country roads are scenic for cycling. There are many festivals, art tours, artisans and crafters in the area. Maple syrup and pick-your-own berries are available in season. Orillia is 10-15 minutes away, with dining, shops, theatre, concerts, boat cruises and waterfront boardwalk. Barrie is 15-20 minutes away. Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre, Martyr Shrine, and Ste. Marie Among the Hurons are about 1/2 hour away. Casino Rama is about 20 minutes away.
